Rodney D. Hanson, 66, 1120 N. 5th St., Clear Lake, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit of North Iowa, Mason City.

Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W.  Inurnment will be at a later time at Rock Grove Cemetery, Nora Springs, Iowa.  Family suggest memorials to Rodney D. Hanson Memorial Fund.

Audrey M. Spilman

Audrey M. Spilman, 95, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

According to her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa.

David E. Erickson

David Edwin Erickson, 65, Circle Pines, Minn., died Friday, Jan. 3, 2014 at Golden Living Center, Fridley, Minn.

  A funeral service was held Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014 at the Mueller-Bies Funeral Home in Roseville, Minn., with the Rev. Bob Burmeister officiating.  Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minn., with military honors conducted.

Dennis Henningsen

Dennis N. Henningsen, 76, of Clear Lake, passed this life on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

A Celebration of Denny’s life will be held on his 77th birthday, Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mason City Country Club, 3331 19th St. SW, Mason City, where a time of reflection and sharing will be held at 5:30 p.m.   Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place.  Denny gave the gift of research through tissue donation to the Mayo Clinic.

Lester G. Heitland

Lester Gene “Les” Heitland, 88, of Mason City, died Jan. 8, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City.  

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at Epiphany Parish - St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City, with the Rev. Rodney Allers as Celebrant.  Burial immediately followed in the Clear Lake Cemetery where military honors were provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W.

Memorials may be left in Les’ honor to the Clear Lake V.F.W.
