Sharon Davison

Sharon L. Davison, 78, Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at the Concord Care Center in Garner, Iowa.

A funeral service for Sharon was held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Reverend Brian Lund of Zion Evangelical & Reform Church in Garner officiating.  Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.  

Those wishing to give a memorial in her memory may wish to consider memorial contribution to Hospice of North Iowa.

Roberta Schlicting

Roberta “Bert” Jane (Buck) Schlichting, 64, died on Feb. 23, 2014 at 6 a.m. at the Hospice of North Iowa, in Mason City.  She lost her four-year battle with breast cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Rev. Dean Hess officiating.  Her wish was to be cremated following the service.  A private 

Kenneth Enabnit

Kenneth Enabnit, 64, of Clear Lake, died of natural causes on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center-

North Iowa in Mason City.  Funeral services will be held at a later date this year.  Andrews Funeral Home, Belmond, Iowa, is handling funeral arrangements.

Nadine R. Girard

Nadine R. Girard, 84, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

A funeral service was held on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, with Pastor Jeni Bohls of St. James Lutheran Church officiating.  Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Nadine’s name in care of her family.

Wrestling team places seventh in State Duals

The Clear Lake wrestlers placed seventh Wednesday in the State Duals in Des Moines. 

Clear Lake (23-4), the fifth seed in the Class 2A field, started the day matched against the number four seed, Creston-Orient Macksburg (16-0).  The Lions won five of the first six matches, but were defeated 36-32.

The season ended Saturday for the Garner-Hayfield/Ventura boys at the hand of New Hampton, 68-42, in the District quarterfinal played at New Hampton.

“We had a tough task to knock off a very talented New Hampton team,” said GHV Coach Joe Albertson.  “We had to play hard, smart, and unselfish basketball to stay with them.”
