Oak Hills to host Junior Open
Oak Hills Golf Course, Clear Lake, will host a Junior Open Golf Tourna-
ment on Tuesday, Aug. 4. The shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. Age divisions
include boys 8 and under, boys 9-10, boys 11-12, boys 13-14, girls 10 and under,
girls 11-13 and girls 14-17. The cost is $10 per person and includes lunch and
prizes. For further questions or to register call 357-2216.

The Clear Lake Dance Team will host a 5k Glo-Run/Walk on Thursday,
Aug. 6, at 9 p.m. at the Seawall by City Park. The route will take the runners
down South Shore Drive around Pine Tree Park then back to the finish line
at the City Park Seawall. Registration forms are available at Lyla’s Boutique
and Clear Lake City Hall, and at a booth during Thursdays on Main. Cost is
$25 for adults and $20 for children 18 and younger, and kids five and under
are free. Participants will receive a free T-shirt and glow-products. Registra-
tions need to be received by July 30 to ensure a T-shirt. On the day of the
event, registration will begin at 7 p.m. by the Seawall at City Park. For any

VFW holds Bean Bag Tournament
The VFW Post 4868 held their weekly Bean Bag Tournament on Wednesday,
July 15. The winner of the Afternoon Singles Match was Stu Parr and Paul Bruns
was the runner-up.
