Leading pharmaceutical distributor locating in CL

The McKesson Corporation, the largest pharmaceutical distributor in North America, was introduced Thursday as the future tenant of a 340,000 square foot building under construction in the city’s Larry Luker Memorial Industrial Park.

Proposed memorial moved

A mock-up of a proposed veteran’s memorial has been moved to a third potential location for the public to review.  It is now stationed at the corner of 8th Street and Main Avenue.

The local Veteran’s Memorial Task Force identified three potential locations to place the display, constructed to scale. In January it was at the Seawall in downtown Clear Lake and in early February it was moved to the former City Beach water tower area. 

Men charged with cheating to win ice fishing tournament

Two North Iowa men have been charged for alleged cheating at a fishing tournament on Clear Lake earlier this month.

Aaron Lauber, 23, of Clear Lake, and Jason Schuttler, 25, of Manly, turned in the winning entry of 50 fish weighing 15 pounds, 14 ounces at the Yellow Bass Bonanza held at Clear Lake on Sunday, Feb. 8.

Fortune 100 company announced

McKesson was announced this morning as the Fortune 100 company which will operate a warehouse and distribution center in Clear Lake, Iowa. The company will provide 164 jobs with an average salary of $39,000 when it is at full operation in early 2016.

 

 

 

 

 

Heather S. Schoonover

Heather Suzanne Schoonover, of Marion, Iowa, was born to Greg and Kristy Schoonover on Oct. 23, 1991, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She celebrated her “Golden Birthday” (23 on the 23rd) in October 2014. On Feb. 5, 2015, Heather heeded God’s calling and made the journey home.

Dr. Robert C. Landau

Dr. Robert C. Landau, 77, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Friday, Feb. 13, at Friendship Village Health Center.

Services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Central Christian Church with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Diane L. Buehler

Diane L. Buehler, 62, of Clear Lake, passed away Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at Muse Norris Hospice, Mason City,  Iowa, surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, 404 Maple Street, Thornton, Iowa, with the Rev. Crystal Oberheu officiating.  Cremation has taken place.

Diane Lynn Buehler was born July 25, 1952, at Mason City, a daughter of Marius and Mavis (Johnson) Floy.  She was united in marriage to Brian J. Buehler on Oct. 5, 1989, at Las Vegas, Nev.

Franc D. Beach

Franc D. Beach, 76, of Clear Lake, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at the Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa. 

A celebration of his life service will be held at a later time.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.

Rev. William R. Dilsaver

The Reverend William Richard “Wil” Dilsaver, 83, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at the Zearing Health Care Center.

Funeral services for William Dilsaver were on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at the Central Christian Church, Waterloo, Iowa.  Burial was at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family c/o his wife: Barb Dilsaver, 19513 County Highway D-15, Iowa Falls, Iowa 50126.

Hattie J. Butenhoff

Hattie Johanna Butenhoff, 93, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015.
