Clear Lake and Ventura football players earn All-State recognition

   The Iowa Sports Connection has released their 2011 Iowa High School Football All-State teams.  Three area players were recognized on the lists.
    For Clear Lake, Ozzie Adams was named to the Class 3A First Team Offense as a utility player.  Tanner Tusha was named the to Class 3A Second Team Defense as a linebacker.

ISU National Champion and Olympic wrestler to speak in Clear Lake

Two-time Iowa State National Champion and Olympic gold medalist wrestler, Ben Peterson, will speak at the Evangelical Free Church of Clear Lake on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  Peterson will share his personal story, highlights and Q&A time.  He will also speak at the 8 and 10:45 a.m. services.

Lambert earns coaching award

    Joe Lambert, son of Joe and Wanda Lambert of Clear Lake, has been named Boys High School Cross Country Assistant Coach of the Year by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches.
    Lambert has served as a volunteer for the Webster City, Iowa cross country teams for more than a decade.

TeamQuest announces acquisition

    TeamQuest Corporation announced the acquisition Tuesday of Performance Surveyor from Solution Labs, a Canadian capacity management company.  The move will result in six new positions at the Clear Lake based company.  By the end of 2011, TeamQuest will have added 16 new employees, bringing the company total to 169.

School districts may share food service director

    The Clear Lake School Board gave its approval Monday for the school district’s food service director to be shared with the Mason City School District.  Lora Jensen will begin her joint position in January, pending approval of the plan by the Mason City School Board.

Free outerwear ready to be distributed Saturday

Winter Outerwear Drive was launched four years ago in an effort to help meet the needs of local families struggling through these challenging economic times.  Generous and caring neighbors have dropped off new and gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves, boots and snow pants in collection boxes throughout town.  Now, the donations are ready to distribute.
