    Jeannine D. Wendel, 82, of Mason City, Iowa died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa.  Funeral services were held Saturday, May 12, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City, with Chaplain Rev. Father Jerome Baker officiating.  Interment was held at Memorial Park Cemetery. 

    Memorials may be directed to the Jeannine Wendel Memorial Fund in care of the family.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.majorericksonfuneralhome.com.

    M. Wayne Oltrogge, 74, died peacefully Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Oakwood Manor, Clear Lake.
    Funeral services were held Monday, May 14 at First United Methodist Church, Mason City, with the Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. Interment followed at St. John Lutheran Church - Crane Creek near Tripoli, Iowa.

    Amy Palmer has found a unique way to incorporate a hobby with spreading some cheer and fun.  Palmer is using her talent of mosaicing to create “Random Rocks of Kindess.”
    “I’ve become addicted to Pinterest (an online idea board).  I combined a few different ideas I found there,” said Palmer.

    The City of Clear Lake will begin spraying for mosquitoes, as determined to be necessary by the City, and will continue throughout the summer and fall as long as justified by mosquito population counts.

 Ruth Madonna (Tucker) Tapps peacefully departed this earth April 28, 2012 at her home in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
    Ruth was born Sept 4, 1920 to John and Clara Tucker. She was a graduate of Lyons High School, Lyons, Iowa, class of 1938. She worked as a supervisor with the Bell Telephone Company in Mason City, Iowa for 18 years. She later worked for EFJohnson in Clear Lake. Ruth was married to Albert E. Tapps in Clear Lake in April 1953. They

    Dwayne K. Miller, 86, of 405 27th Ave. South, Clear Lake, died Monday, April 30, 2012 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.
    Funeral services were held Friday, May 4, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Diana Hoover officiating.  Following the service he was cremated and inurnment will be in the Ft. Dodge Cemetery at a later time. Family suggests memorials to Dwayne K. Miller Memorial Fund in care of Clear Lake Bank and Trust.

    Thomas E. Skellenger, 66, 212 7th Ave N., Clear Lake, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa. 
    A memorial sService will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Wendy Johannesen officiating. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.  Memorials may be given to the Thomas E. Skellenger Family in care of the family.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. Interment was in Lincoln Township Cemetery.
