     Larson Manufacturing, located in Clear Lake, made the announcement on Tuesday, Nov. 8, that they will be consolidating Clear Lake’s plant into the Lake Mills operation.  Due to the consolidation, 68 employees at the Clear Lake facility will lose their jobs.

There were no contested races in either Clear Lake or Ventura for the Tuesday, Nov. 8 General Election.    
    In Clear Lake, incumbents Mike Callanan and Terry Unsworth were returned to the council.  They will be joined by newcomers Dana Brant and Jim Boehnke.

Great Lakes chosen as new carrier by Mason City Airport

     Great Lakes Aviation will soon serve the Mason City Municipal Airport.  The Mason City Airport Commissioners recommended Great Lakes unanimously at a meeting held Monday evening.
    “Great Lakes is the best choice for Mason City,” said Airport Manager Pam Osgood.  “We are expecting this to be a smooth transition.”

    Rick L. Lundquist, 62, went to heaven to be with Jesus on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.  He was very ready to go and went very peacefully surrounded by his loving family and his dog, Fozzie.  Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 7, at Riverside Friends Church, Mason City, Iowa with Pastor Paul Martin officiating.  Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
