Jeffery Johnson

Jeffery Lynn Johnson had to close his toolbox for the last time on 15 March 2024.

Born 23 July in Belmond, Jeffery did a lot of work with his family’s paint and gift store in Clear Lake where he learned his lifelong hard work ethic. Shortly after graduating from Clear Lake High School he started his adventures with his best friend, Ed Peck, as he developed memories of extreme adventures through most of the lower 48 from Jackson Hole to Alabama that he would share while reminiscing the rest of his life. His adventures eventually led him to Alaska in 1983. It was the start of developing his love of Lake Louise in 1985 when he began building his log cabin with his father Merlin Johnson. He built many strong friendships and helped with so many work and personal projects that his handiwork in construction can be seen throughout Alaska, even as far as the southern-most island of Honolulu, Hawaii.

He is survived by his brother Randy, his nephew Brian, niece Laura, and many dear family members in Iowa, as well as friends Ashley, Brittany, Ed, Jack, Lon, Russ, Shelly, Bob and Tom and so many more. Jeff will make his final trip to the cabin he built in March 2025. Jeff kept notes to always remember all his beloved friends and family, so in lieu of flowers or donations, call a friend and meet them; cherish your friends as much as Jeff cherished his.
