William J. Mossie
William Joseph Mossie, 68, of Clear Lake, passed away Oct. 28, 2023 in Clear Lake.
A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 N. State Route 291, Liberty, Mo. A visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Bill was born June 11, 1955, in Independence, Mo., the son of George A. Mossie and Gladys Kennedy. Bill graduated from Winnetonka High School in 1973 and served in the United States Air Force from 1974 until 1976. He graduated from Missouri School of Mines with a degree in Civil Engineering and was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Bill was employed as a civil engineer for 40 years, with his last place of employment being Sukup Manufacturing in Sheffield.
Bill and his wife, Kathy, met at a Kansas City Chiefs game in 2005 and were married in 2008. They enjoyed road trips, riding their Harley, and Kansas City Chiefs football. Bill was a great dancer and he loved classic rock. He also loved a good joke followed by the most memorable laugh. Bill was compassionate, giving, and a loyal friend to many.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kathy; daughter, Catherine; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; four granddaughters; and many extended family and friends. Preceding him in death are his son, Joseph Mossie; parents, George and Gladys Mossie; and nephew, Luke Paske.
