Ruth E. Meints

Ruth E. Meints, 91, of Clear Lake, passed away Sunday, Oct. 22, 2023 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, at Ward Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave. N., Clear Lake.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

  Ruth’s family will greet relatives and friends beginning one hour prior to her service at the funeral home on Friday.

Ruth was born April 6, 1932 in Mason City, the daughter of Mark and Alice (Fletcher) Sessions.  She attended and graduated from Mason City High School. She married Ardell E. Meints on April 27, 1952 at the First United Methodist Church in Mason City.

For many years Ruth worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and retired from Unisys. 

Ruth is survived by her children, Leonard Meints (Denise), of Florida, Donna Meints (Daniel L. Sveen), of Wisconsin, and Nancy Watkins, of Wisconsin; six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sisters in law, Chris Sessions and Shirley (Bill) Dieger; brother in law, Jerry Meints; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ardell; daughter in law, Angel Meints; and siblings, Robert Sessions and Carol (Gayle) Lenz.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake was in charge of arrangements.
