Lion pride at State
It didn’t end quite the way they had hoped, but the Clear Lake girls basketball team played an exciting game against second ranked Pocahontas Area Tuesday, March 3, in
the opening round of the Class 3A Girls State Basketball Tournament in Des Moines. “This was one of the best games I have ever been apart of. I just wish we could have came home with a win,” said Lions Coach Bart Smith after the Indians pulled out a 63-59 win in the final minute. “They left it all out on the floor and that’s all I’ve asked the girls to do all year. They should be very proud of how they represented themselves, the team, our school and community.”
