CL man sentenced to 55 years for crime spree
A Clear Lake man was sentenced to 55 years in prison after a conviction of arson, drug possession and thefts from automatic teller machines in Clear Lake.
Michael Dean Wilson, 25, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree burglary as a habitual offender, one count of second-degree arson,
one count of second-degree criminal mischief as a habitual offender, and one count of third offense possession of methamphetamine as a habitual offender.
Wilson was accused of stealing an ATM machine from the Lakeside Pit Stop in Clear Lake on Aug. 15, 2014, as well as cutting open an ATM and taking cash at Rumorz Bar in Clear Lake on Oct. 24. He was also accused of stealing a pick-up truck on Oct. 27 in Clear Lake which was later found burning in a ditch near 240th Street and Hickory Avenue on Oct. 28.
Prosecutors say Wilson must serve at least nine years before he can be considered for parole. The judge ordered two of the five charges to run concurrently. The other three must be served consecutively.
