Randy Thomas Kaster

Randy Thomas Kaster, 59, 102 W. Lake St., Ventura, Iowa, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa.

     A Celebration of Life was held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, Iowa with Mark Doebel officiating.  

According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.  Inurnment will be at the Ventura Cemetery at a later date.  

Memorials may be given to Randy Kaster in care of Connie Carter, 102 W. Lake St., Ventura, Iowa  50482.

     Randy was born Oct. 19, 1955 in Mason City, Iowa the son of Robert F. and Arlene (Rafferty) Kaster.  He grew up in Ventura Heights and attended Ventura Schools.  He worked for Hayfield Industries for over 36 years.  

     Randy enjoyed cribbage, playing cards, grilling outdoors, hunting and fishing, trapping, mushroom hunting and going to the casino.  Randy had lots of bonfires and loved feeding “his” squirrels. He enjoyed his drives around the lake with Bobby Wolfram Jr.  Randy also loved spending time with Connie  and family.  

     Randy is survived by his son Jason Kaster, Casa Grande, Ariz; significant other and best friend Connie Carter, Ventura; Connie’s children Andy Carter and fiancé  Danielle and Craig Carter  significant other Cassandra, Ventura; siblings Bobby Kaster, Ventura, Penny Kaster, Clear Lake, Sharon Shinn, Mason City, and Deanna Bonner, Clear Lake; and very special friend Bobby Wolfram Jr., Ventura; nieces and nephews and friends.     

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jody Kaster and nephew Aaron Kaster.
