Lora L. Proctor
Lora LaGrace Proctor, 87, Clear Lake, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 26, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Mark Doebel officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Oakwood Care Center, 400 Hwy 18 W., Clear Lake, in her name.
Lora was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Florence (Keller) Klaassen. She attended Mason City schools.
Lora married John Proctor Oct. 22, 1949, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived most of their lives in the Clear Lake area.
She loved cross stitching, visiting the casino and having her grandchildren around. She also enjoyed having coffee and shopping with her sister, Marie.
While her husband was living, John and Lora enjoyed going on long drives.
Lora raised Boston Terriers, which she loved having around. She was always excited for family gatherings, especially Christmas.
She enjoyed fishing, playing cards and Bingo on the 4th of July.
Lora is survived by two daughters, Julie Reins and her husband, Carroll, Carlisle, Iowa; and Lora Jean Moore and her husband, Chuck, Boone, Iowa; sister, Loretta Lande, Northwood, Iowa; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Lora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Proctor; daughter, Joan Wilson; son, John Proctor Jr.; and sister, Marie Brower.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
