Harriet Krutsinger

Harriet Kay Krutsinger, 77, 309 N. 10th St., Clear Lake, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.

     A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Evangelical Free Church, Highway 18 W., Clear Lake, with Pastor Randy Vaage officiating.  Inurnment will be at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

     Harriet was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Plymouth, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph Ferdinand and Harriet Elizabeth Ann (Paul) Stangler.   She graduated from Mason City High School in 1955.  Following school, she worked for Northwestern Bell in Mason City until 1960.  Harriet married Richard Krutsinger on July 23, 1960.  To this union four children were born.  Harriet did daycare in her home for over 30 years.  

     Harriet enjoyed spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and daycare children.  She also enjoyed camping, reading, crafts and Clear Lake TOPS #430.  She attended the Evangelical Free Church.

     Harriet is survived by her husband, Richard D. Krutsinger, Clear Lake; three children, Linda (Roger) Gutschmidt, Gackle, N.D., Douglas (Kelli) Krutsinger, Marengo, Iowa, and Jeffrey Krutsinger, Clear Lake; six grandchildren, John and Sarah Gutschmidt, Ian, Emma, Madelynn and Micaiah Krutsinger; brother, Donald (Pat) Stangler, Mason City, Iowa, and Joanne (Robert) White, Ventura, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.

     Harriet was preceded in death by her parents; son, Michael Krutsinger; sisters Marguerite Hanson, Lorraine “Babe” Anderson, Dorothy Hanson and Elizabeth Gregory; and brothers, Edward Stangler and Joseph Stangler.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
