CL police investigating early morning break-in at Rumorz

Clear Lake police are investigating a burglary reported Friday, Oct. 24, at Rumorz Bar and Grill, South Shore Drive.

According to CLPD Detective Ryan Eskildsen, an intruder broke into the building in the early morning hours.  He estimated damage and loss at “several thousand dollars.”

According to Eskildsen, an ATM machine was cut into and money was taken.  The restaurant was also ransacked.

Eskildsen said the CLPD is still investigating and has sent evidence to the Department of Criminal Investigation lab for analysis.

The CLPD is asking anyone with information about the incident to call the police department at 641-357-2186.

Eskildsen said the community is seeing an increased number of burglaries.  He urged people to be diligent in keeping their homes locked and report any suspicious behavior to the police.
