Postmaster faces federal theft charges
A Ventura man is facing federal theft charges.
Federal court documents show that an indictment was filed last week against Forest City postmaster Danny Miller, who was charged by a grand jury with theft of mail by a postal service
employee. The indictment states that Miller stole, abstracted and removed prescription pain medications from mail with the intent to convert such items to his own use.
Miller was appointed as the officer-in-charge and postmaster of the Forest City post office in 2012. He previously was the postmaster in Fertile.
Miller is scheduled to make an appearance in United States District Court in Sioux City today (Wednesday, Oct. 29).
