Child okay after second story fall
On Wednesday, Oct. 1, at about 3:56 p.m. the Clear Lake Police Department was called to 708 S. 8th St. on a report of an 18-month-old child falling through a window screen. The child fell approximately 15-feet from the window.
Clear Lake police chief Rex McChesney says Nevaeh Jo Anderson, the daughter of Angela Johnson, climbed onto the back of a couch in the family’s apartment at 708 South 8th Street and pushed out the window screen, falling about 15 feet to the ground. The child was being watched by Tanner Larsen, the mother’s live-in boyfriend, as Johnson was not home at the time of the accident.
The child was transported by the Clear Lake Fire Department to Mercy Medical Center-North-Iowa. She was treated and released.
According to a CLPD news release, the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
