IGNITE Clear Lake campaign receives matching grant

The IGNITE Clear Lake Fireworks Endowment Campaign has received a $75,000 matching grant from John and Janis Ruan, of the Ruan Foundation. This will help the campaign close out its $150,000 remaining amount of funds needed to successfully end the campaign.

“We are thrilled at this matching grant challenge from the Ruan family to help us conclude our campaign,” said Mark Ebeling, co-chair of the IGNITE campaign and president of the Clear Lake Area Chamber. “We need $150,000 to successfully conclude our campaign and reach our expanded goal of $1.2 million. This is generally the toughest part of our campaign, raising that last amount,” Ebeling noted.
Casey Callanan, co-chair of the IGNITE Clear Lake Campaign, said the timing couldn’t be better.
“Not only is the timing great to have the Ruan matching grant challenge, but any prospective donor could have his or her gift have a much greater impact, and still be eligible for the Endow Iowa tax credit of 25 percent,” Callanan stated. “This will be immensely helpful in bringing closure to our fundraising efforts.”
Anyone interested in taking advantage of the matching grant can contact Chamber CEO Tim Coffey at the Chamber office, 357-2159.
