Dennis L. Baker

 Dennis L. Baker, 65, passed away on July 31, 2014, at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colo. Dennis L. Baker was born on June 11, 1949 in Jewell, Iowa, the son of Don Baker and Marian “Micky” (Caudle) McIlvenna.

 A memorial celebration of his life will be held in Denver on Aug. 6, 2014.
He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1967. After high school he attended college at the University of Iowa in Iowa City where he received a master’s degree in accounting.
Dennis married Kathryn Spilman on Jan. 15, 1972. They were happily married for 42 years. Dennis was a Certified Public Accountant and was a member of the AICPA. Dennis loved to sing and entertain, ski the slopes in Colorado, he was a fan of the Denver Broncos and Iowa Hawkeyes and was an avid golfer, scoring several hole-in-ones in his golfing career.
Dennis is survived by his spouse, Kathy, Denver; two daughters, Liz (Tyson) Bauer, Chicago, Ill., and Amanda Baker, Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Mark (Priscilla) Baker, Denver, Tim (Deidre) Baker, Henderson, N.V.; step-mother, Gladys “Myke” Baker, Clear Lake; step father, Jack McIlvenna, Sioux Falls, S.D.; and nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Don Baker and Marian “Micky” (Caudle) McIlvenna; and his loving dogs, Sandy and Chloe.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s 2014 Denver Light the Night Walk, team “Dennis Baker Money Maker”.
