Chamber re-ignites fireworks campaign to push toward goal

The Clear Lake Area Chamber announced that it is “re-IGNITING” the IGNITE Clear Lake campaign this summer to shore up its final support and close out the campaign to endow the fireworks for Clear Lake.
The Clear Lake Area Chamber established an endowment account for the fireworks fund with the Cerro Gordo County Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.

“We are almost at our goal, and we want to generate additional contributions to help us reach our goal,” campaign co-chair Mark Ebeling said. “So far, we have raised close to $1,050,000, which represents about 88 percent of our revised goal of $1.2 million. We know that when we are this close, it gets to be more challenging, but we are confident, that once people hear how they can give and the incredible tax advantages, they will be participating.”
“Our Endow Iowa tax credit has been a huge hit with our donors,” co-chair Casey Callanan said. “Along with the federal tax-deduction for their gift, those who live in Iowa can have a tax credit of 25 percent, making their charitable gift to this campaign even more attractive,” Callanan said.
“We will be making every effort to reach our goal, and make it possible for the community to always have the fireworks as a key part of their family July 4th traditions here at Clear Lake,” Ebeling stated. “To date, there are ample tax credits for Endow Iowa available, but they do run out as we approach the end of the calendar year,” Ebeling said. “I would urge prospective donors to act in a timely way if they want to take advantage of this great incentive.”
Information on the campaign and how to make a gift, and more information about the Endow Iowa tax credits can be obtained from CEO Tim Coffey, 641-357-2159 at the Chamber office.
