CL girls golf team earns a trip to State
The Clear Lake girls golf team earned a trip to the State Golf Tournament by winning their Regional played at Three Elms in Independence Tuesday, May 27. The Lions were three-stroke winners over Dyersville Beckman, which also qualified for State,
355-358. Independence and Camanche were distant finishers with 383 and 386 respectively.
Clear Lake’s Emily Snelling was the medalist with a 71. Her score was three-strokes better than runner-up Brooke Klostermann, of Dyersville Beckman. The remainder of the top five players were 12 and 13 strokes behind Snelling.
“Emily was playing very well all day long,” explained Coach Adam Brinkman. “She came out of the start at two-under under after six holes. The key to her season low round was her putter.
