Motorcyclist dies after accident

A Garner man has died from injuries he sustained when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 18 and Main Avenue in Ventura.

The Clear Lake Police Department reports that Timothy Hayes, 27, of Mason City, was westbound on Highway 18 at 6:24 p.m. Thursday, April 10,

 and made a left turn in front of a motorcycle driven by Benjamin Hanson, 30, of Garner.Hanson was transported by Mercy Air Med for treatment in Mason City.  He was later pronounced dead. Hayes was cited for failing to yield while making a left turn.
