Local RAGBRAI Planning Committee announced
The Clear Lake’s Planning Committee for RAGBRAI XLII has been announced.
The Planning Committee is an independent committee with support of the City and Chamber of Commerce. The group will plan all aspects of the festivities happening on July 23. As a Pass-Through Town, Clear Lake is expected to welcome the riders and other guests, to provide food and water, and to provide a safe, positive environment.
“Our primary purpose is to promote Clear Lake. We want our guests on July 23 to return to Clear Lake in the future,” said Diane Thompson, general chair for the event.
“The committee will generate income by selling bicycle pins and T-shirts, and getting sponsors for entertainment to pay for expenses,” Thompson explained. “Any profit will be given back to the community.
