Blizzard hits area
With Wednesday temperatures in the 40s, it was hard to believe the area would be in the midst of a blizzard on Thursday. But that was the case. Winds whipped the eight inches of snow which fell during
the day Thursday and by evening no travel was advised. Interstate 35 was closed between Owatonna, Minn. and Ames, Iowa.
This week winds will again blow lighter amouts of snowfall, but no blizzards are predicted for the area. However, temperatures will be colder. Highs will only reach the single digits. Normal temperature this time of the year is 33 degrees.
