Lahner appointed as Trustee

The Clear Lake Sanitary District Board of Trustees has selected Steve Lahner to fill the unexpired term of Kelly McLaughlin.

According to Sanitary District Superintendent Kevin Moler, the board interviewed three persons for the trustee position and voted Feb. 18 to approve Lahner.

McLaughlin resigned the trustee position to become Maintenance Supervisor at the Sanitary District plant.

Lahner will fill McLaughlin’s seat until the November 2014 elections.  The person elected will then serve the remaining two years of the six-year term (Jan. 1, 2015 - Dec. 31, 2016).

According to Moler, he had three individuals to consider for appointment.

“All three candidates were excellent choices and it was a hard decision for the board to make,” he said.

Lahner is a Clear Lake resident and owner of MN-Iowa Electric.

The other two candidates were John Morgan and Tom Arndorfer. Both are Clear Lake residents.
