Firefighters respond to house fires

At approximately 3:15 a.m. Saturday morning the Clear Lake Police Department received a report of a fire in an upstairs bedroom at 405 S. 12th St.  

The Fire Department responded to the scene and quickly extinguished a small fire found in the corner of the room.  After ventilating the structure and determining the fire had not extended beyond the bedroom, the occupants were allowed to return inside.  

Damage to the home, owned by Dave and Vicky Klang, was estimated at $3,000.

The cause remains under investigation.  

The CLFD was assisted at the scene by the Ventura Fire Department and Clear Lake police.
