Revena M. Collins
Revena M. Collins, 85, Clear Lake, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton, Iowa.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at the Christian Church, 302 Hwy. 18 W., Clear Lake, with Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. According to her wishes, her body has been cremated. Memorials may be given to the Revena M. Collins Memorial Fund.
Revena was born July 18, 1928 in Kensett, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Leila (Oleson) Moretz. She moved with her family to Clear Lake at an early age. Revena met Keith Collins at the Surf Ballroom and they were married July 28, 1946 at the Christian Church in Clear Lake. They lived their entire lives in Clear Lake.
She enjoyed time spent with her family and playing games. Revena and Keith loved their winters at South Padre Island, Texas, and going to see the big bands at the Surf Ballroom, where they would dance the night away. She loved collecting Santa Clauses and Cupid pictures and spending time at the lake.
Revena was a member of the Christian Church, Clear Lake.
Revena is survived by three children, Linda Ott and her husband, Rick, Clear Lake, Becky Erickson and her husband, Don, Ames, Iowa, and Dr. Chad Collins and his wife, Dawn, Hampton; seven grandchildren, Amber Johnson and her husband, Torrey, Des Moines, Iowa, Cassandra Erickson, Denver, Colo., Angela Ott, Clear Lake, Brady Ott, Clear Lake, Taylor Collins, Hampton, Carter Collins, Ames, and Chase Collins, Hampton; two great-grandchildren, Elliott and Winston Johnson; two sisters, Loreen Gagnon and her husband, Dave, Lonsdale, Minn., and Donna Legler, Altoona, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
Revena was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith, (Aug. 9, 2000); son, Dennis Collins, (Dec. 16, 1991); and three brothers, Maynard, Delmer and Hubert Moretz.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
