Nadine A. Price
Nadine Ann Price, 87, of Mason City, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013 at Good Shepherd Health Center. A funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, with Pastor Dean Hess officiating. Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Nadine Price Memorial fund which will be given as contributions to Nadine’s favorite charities.
Nadine was born May 20, 1926 in Gettysburg, S.D., the daughter of Allen and Bertha Mae (Juhl) Hallett. She graduated from Forest City High School in 1944, then moved to Mason City to start working.
Nadine married William “Bill” Price on March 8, 1945 in Miller, Iowa. Together they started a family. While raising their children, Nadine worked at Witkes in Clear Lake. After their children were old enough, she went back to school to be a cosmetologist. She attended the Mason City School of Cosmetology in 1963, graduating in 1964. She opened up “Nadine’s Beauty Salon” in her and Bill’s home.
Nadine and Bill traveled and wintered in Harlingen, Texas, after they retired. She enjoyed golf, sewing, cooking, traveling, and going to the casino. Most of all, she enjoyed 55 years of marriage and watching her children and grandchildren grow up.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary (Chris) Price, Mason City, Sandy (Jerry) Zirbel, Mason City, Steve (Diane) Price, Mason City; grandchildren, Todd Price, Minneapolis, Minn., Brian (Adriana) Price, San Antonio, Texas, Lindsey (Chris) Schultz, Clear Lake, Brent (Jill) Zirbel, Algona, Iowa, Chad (Alison) Zirbel, West Des Moines, Iowa, Jason (Amber) Zirbel, Waterloo, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Wakeley Price, Mason Price, Hallie Zirbel, Teagan Zirbel, Beckett Zirbel, Riley Zirbel, Easton Zirbel, Whitney Schultz; sister, Cleone Knutson, Lake Mills, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Francis Hallett, Crystal Lake, Iowa, Doris Price, Mason City; and brother-in-law, Richard Torkelson, Mason City; many nieces and nephews; as well as extended family member, Roger (Bev) Ennis, Mason City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Bertha Mae Hallett; her father and mother-in-law, Lee and Molly Price; husband, William “Bill” Price; brothers, Stanley and Leo Hallett; sister, Loretta Etzen; brothers-in-law, Harold “Bud” Price, Kenneth Stites, Enno Etzen and Melburn Knutson; and sisters-in-law, Leona Torkelson, Evelyn Stites and Millie Hallett.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
