Grant will help police focus on impaired drivers

  The Clear Lake Police Department was awarded a Traffic Safety Grant 

Oct. 1 from the State of Iowa to focus on the enforcement of impaired drivers.  

Clear Lake Police Chief Greg Peterson reports the grant will be used from October through September and will allow police officers to conduct additional traffic enforcement directed at impaired driving at times and locations identified as high-risk.  

The department will also be purchasing equipment with the support from this grant to help with enforcement efforts.
