Ann M. Anderson

 

     Ann M. Anderson, 83, died on Sept. 19, 2013 at the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nev., after suffering a brief illness.  A funeral mass was held at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 with Rev. Neil Manternach officiating.  Interment was at the Clear Lake Cemetery.  

     Ann was born June 21, 1930 in New York City, N.Y., to Michael and Maria (Panza) Coscia, immigrants from the Puglia region of Italy.  Her father was a longshoreman and her mother was a seamstress and homemaker.

     Ann lived in New York until 1979, having graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan, New York City, in 1948.  She and her husband, William C. (Bill) Anderson, erstwhile of Clear Lake, moved from New York to Arlington, Texas, in 1979 where she continued her responsibilities in the pension department of American Airlines.  Early in 1991, the couple moved to the Sun City Community in the environs of Las Vegas, Nev., where she resided until her death. 

     She was an active member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish in Las Vegas, where she served as a Eucharistic minister.  Her interests included family, dining with friends, and traveling.  She had visited such faraway places as Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, and Russia, as well as many trips to visit family during her lifetime.

     Ann is survived by her sister, Antoinette Coscia; son, Chris Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.  

     She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Anderson; sisters, Jean Cavanagh and Grace Jackson; and a niece, Kathy (Jackson) Bates.

     Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
