Incumbent Second Ward Councilman, Mayor announce re-election plans
Clear Lake Second Ward Councilman Tony Nelson and Mayor Nelson Crabb each announced their plans Tuesday to seek re-election. Both men are seeking second terms.
“Our city has made significant progress in recent years with the addition of a new fire station, several large infrastructure improvements, and many other enhancements. I feel very
privileged to be a part of the successes in our community, but also feel that there are other items that still need attention,” said Nelson. “With that said, I am seeking a second term on the Clear Lake City Council. I have the knowledge, experience and energy to see that the positive momentum that has been created continues on into the future. Some of the items to address include the remodel of our City Hall/Police Station, the addition of a new water tower, and the North Shore Drive/Seawall streetscape enhancements. There is still a lot of work to be done and I am eager to continue serving the citizens of Ward 2 and Clear Lake. I look forward to the next four years and hope I can continue with my contributions and giving back to our community.”
Crabb had also been mulling re-election and said he is also ready to lead the community as it faces significant challenges in the coming years. He noted the re-construction of North Shore Drive from City Park to the Surf Ballroom, a much-needed renovation to the City’s Police Station, transitions in key personnel and construction of a new one-million gallon water tower are ahead.
“We need to continue to ensure we maintain a vibrant and competitive ‘Main Street’ business community. There are also further efforts that must be taken to bring more employment opportunities to the community,” he added. “Decisions related to these important matters will have a lasting and profound impact on the community.”
