P&Z approves new location for Pritchard Auto
The Clear Lake Planning and Zoning Board has granted its approval to plans for Pritchard Auto to construct a new dealership building at 3101 Willow Creek Court, near the intersection of Interstate 35 and Highway 122.
Nate Carney and Sue Copas, of Dean Snyder Construction, met with the P&Z Board at its Tuesday, July 16 meeting.
Copas explained the building will fit in nicely with area buildings. Ford has a protocol for new dealership building development and that will be followed, she said.
The 28,267 square foot building will be located just east of Lake Chevrolet. In addition to a 21,637 square foot showroom, administration and service space, the building will include a quick lane building and carwash.
The Board unanimously approved the site plan contingent upon Joe Pritchard signing a 30-foot easement agreement with the city.
Pritchard Auto is a five-generation business started in 1913 by Walter Pritchard in Garner, Iowa. The business grew to include locations in Britt, Forest City and Clarion. Between 2005 and 2007 three more dealerships were added in Northwood, Clear Lake and Mason City. Pritchard Auto in Clear Lake is currently located at 409 S. 24th St.
