Cards drop final game of season
The Garner-Hayfield/Ventura girls soccer team dropped the final game of the season to Gladbrook-Reinbeck, 10-0.
“Gladbrook is a very tough team and they are well coached,” said Coach Josh Banse.
Goalie Sam Betz had 14 saves for the Cards. Bri Bier and Emily Spilman each had two shots on goal.
The Cardinals will say good-bye to seniors Jesslyn Prohaska, Bethany Nannenga, Kelly Babcock, Renae Lau and Sarah Marmaro.
“These girls have been great leaders this year and they will be missed,” said Banse.
Banse said that he could not be happier with the progress the girls made this year and he predicts a bright future for the returning girls next season.
