Two more wins for CL soccer girls
The Clear Lake girls soccer team is in the final stretch of the regular season, with the final home game and Parent’s Night scheduled for Friday, May 17, against
Iowa Falls-Alden. The Lions recorded two wins and suffered a loss at the hands of 10th ranked (2A) Waverly-Shell Rock. Clear Lake’s 7-3 record to date is the best the program has achieved. The Lions begin Regional play May 28 at Aplington-Parkersburg.

Tuesday, May 7, the Lions posted a 6-0 shut-out on the road at Webster City.
The game started a bit slow for the Lions; the lead was only 2-0 at the half. Things heated up in the second half, as Hanna Bartlett recorded a hat trick and Logan Anderson, Madison Faber and Madi Wendel also recorded goals for the team.
Goal keeper Riley Brinkman had eight saves in the contest.
Coach Lothar Meyer said his sweepers held the Lynx offense in check.
The Lions sweepers allowed the midfielders to force the ball through an eight-girl defense mounted by Webster City. Clear Lake had 20 shots at goal, with good saves by the Lynx keeper.
