Students organize, contribute to blood drive

On Wednesday, March 20, Clear Lake High School held its 16th blood drive in the high school gym.  Students from the Human Anatomy and Physiology II class were in charge of the planning, promotion and implementation of the drive.  Seventy-four students and teachers were able to donate 59 units through the Life Serve Blood Center of Iowa.

 This included 41 first-time donors.  Cookies, Etc. once again provided cookies for all of the donors.

Sherry Hansen explained the project began in February, when her AP II students made educational and promotional posters, announcements, and a video entitled, “The Hemoglobin Games.”  Former CLHS student, Carlos Oulman, of Custom Sounds Entertainment, helped the students edit and produce their creation. 

The students next recruited and scheduled the donors.
