Davidson, Swenson and Sheakley earn All-Conference recognition
Three Clear Lake Lions have received All-North Central Conference honors from coaches. Junior Spencer Davidson was a First Team choice. Junior Pete Swenson was named to the Second Team and senior Gavin Sheakley was picked for the NCC’s Third Team.
Davidson was the leading scorer for the Lions with an average of 19.5 points in 24 games played. His scoring
averaged ranked third in the NCC; he scored an average of 18.7 in 18 conference games. He was also the leader at the free throw line for the Lions, sinking 132 of 155 attempts during the season for 85.2 percent.
Swenson was the only other Lion to average double figure scoring. He averaged 12.4 points per game in the 24-game season and 11.8 points in league games. His 53.2 percent shooting led his team and was in the top five percentages in the NCC. He was Clear Lake’s leading rebounder with 195. He averaged 8.2 rebounds in NCC games, ranking him fourth in the conference. Swenson also topped the team and conference in steals. His 46 steals in conference play, and 65 during the regular season, were unmatched. The next closet NCC player in the NCC had 39 steals. Sheakley was the next closest on the team with 33. Swenson also had a team-high 15 blocks.
Sheakley averaged 7.7 points per game (66.7 percent) and 7.9 points (61.4 percent) in conference contests. He held the team in assists with 64 and he also finished among the top 10 in the league in steals with 25.
The Lions finished the season with an overall record of 16-8. They shared runner-up honors in the NCC with Humboldt with 15-3 marks. Iowa Falls/Alden won - Read More Via e-Edition
