Marcella Johnson
Marcella Johnson, 87, of 20 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake, after a short illness.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church, Clear Lake with the Rev. Dr. Rhoda Preston officiating. Following the service she will be cremated and a
private graveside service will be held in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. Family suggests memorials to the Marcella Johnson Memorial Fund.
Alice Marcella Johnson was born Sept. 6, 1925 on the family farm south of Ventura, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Estella (Quick) Coyier.
She attended school in Ventura and Clear Lake. She enjoyed living in Clear Lake all her life and held various jobs in Clear Lake.
She enjoyed going to flea markets, antiques, summer activities around the lake, eating out, family get togethers and attending her grandchildren’s events. She was known for her great sense of humor.
She attended the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.
Marcella is survived by her two daughters, Linda (David) Bowers and Melissa (Jeff) Schuchard, both of Clear Lake; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Johnson, Mason City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Sheila MacDonald, Des Moines, Iowa, Emily Bowers, Clear Lake, Charlie (Aprile) MacDonald, Des Moines, Dylan Schuchard and Riley Schuchard, both of Clear Lake; great-grandson, Warren MacDonald, Des Moines, and many dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Orville, Milton, Harley and Wesley Coyier; two children, Gene Johnson and Deborah Pierce.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
