Lucile Snopek
Lucile L. (Bednar) Snopek, 96, of Ventura, Iowa, went to her eternal reward on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa, surrounded by her loved ones.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with the Reverend Jon Gossman officiating. Burial was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Manly, Iowa.
Lucile was born in Manly on May 2, 1916 to Joseph and Anna (Koci) Bednar and was the oldest of three children. She was married in 1936 to Leslie Snopek, who passed away in 1969. Lucile is a former resident of Mason City and Osage, Iowa, but has lived in Ventura with her son, Ed, since 1971. She was a generous and loving person whose home was always open and welcoming to family and friends.
Lucile will be dearly missed by her family, son, Edward of Ventura; daughter, Karen (Joe) Chrencik of Traverse City, Mich.; grandchildren, Cheryl (Phil) Kapler of Lakeville, Minn., Christa (Curt) Diemer of West Branch, Iowa, Coleen (Don) Hellen of Divide, Colo., Curtis (Patricia) Chrencik of Gaylord, Mich.; great-grandchildren, Monica, Ethan, Elena, and Owen Kapler, Kara and Julia Diemer, Mitch, Daniel, and Thomas Chisholm (and their father, Marty Chisholm), Ryan, Carley, and Joey Chrencik; her brother, Les Bednar of Mason City; and sister, Lilian (Ben) Navratil of Plymouth, Iowa.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
