Gary Bright

Gary L. Bright, 60, of Fort Myers, Fla. passed away on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012.   He was born in Moline, Ill., to Myron Bright and Shirley Horstman.  He graduated from Maryvale High School in Phoenix, Ariz. in 1970.  He married Jackie Johnson in 1973, and was blessed with three children – Cori Lynn, Christopher Lee, and Sean Richard.

Gary enjoyed a career in talk and news radio throughout Illinois before transitioning into business management.  Throughout his professional career, Gary enjoyed time as the Executive Director of the Sauk Valley, Clear Lake, Iowa, and Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce.

Outside of his professional work, Gary enjoyed golf, trips to Walt Disney World, and discussing politics.Above all, Gary’s passion was his family.  A recent transplant to the SW Florida area, Gary loved spending time with his wife, children, and two grandchildren – Jackson and Brooklyn.

Family and friends were invited to visit the funeral service at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, Fort Myers, Fla., on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012.  Interment was in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
