Sharon Lynn (Prull) Abbas, 72, Clear Lake, Iowa, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at the I.O.O.F. Home in Mason City, Iowa.  

A funeral service for Sharon will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at the United Methodist 

Church, 508 2nd Ave. N, Clear Lake, with Dr. Rhoda Preston officiating.  Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake.  Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service time on Thursday at the church.

Those wishing to give a memorial in her memory may wish to consider a memorial contribution to the United Methodist Church.

Sharon Lynn (Prull) Abbas was born on Aug. 11, 1940 in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford and Winola (Wagner) Prull.  She attended the Geneva school system, graduating from Geneva High School in 1958.  She was united in marriage to Lyle Abbas on Sept. 17, 1960 at the Zion Reformed Church in Sheffield, Iowa.  They soon moved to Davenport where Lyle attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and Sharon worked as an assistant to the Palmer College clinic director.  In 1964 they moved to Clear Lake where she worked with her husband as office manager of his chiropractic practice for over 30 years.

Sharon was a devoted and active member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.  She held several offices in the United Methodist Women’s Club, attended church circle, sang in the church choir for over 30 years, and also served on the alter guild and as a church wedding coordinator.  Sharon was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Clear Lake Garden Club.

Sharon enjoyed biking, photography, gardening and traveling.  Her greatest love and source of enjoyment was her grandchildren, she spent great amounts of time with them and attending their activities.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Dr. Lyle Abbas of Clear Lake; three children, Cindy (Daryl) Hall of Cedar Falls, Iowa,  Mark (Tami) Abbas of Woodstock, Ga., and Doug (Sara) Abbas of Clear Lake; six grandchildren, Jake and Nick Hall of Cedar Falls, Matthew and Michael Abbas of Woodstock, Ga, and Jackson and Haley Abbas of Clear Lake; two sisters, Gloria (Stan) Burkle of Nashua, Iowa, and Aleyna (Larry) Davisson of DeSoto, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, LaVonne Conlon of Sheffield and Janice Prull of San Jose, Calif.; several nieces, nephews, as well as extended family members and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Winola Prull; and her brother, Dale Prull.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
