Ruth Eames
Ruth Gertrude Binger Eames, 92, of Newton, N.C. went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton, N.C.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved to bake. Ruth was very involved in her community and started a dance studio and junior bowling league. Ruth was on the residence committee that helped develop a retirement park in Lady Lake, Fla. that has since grown to almost a thousand residences.
Born July 19, 1920 in Minneapolis, Minn. She was the daughter of the late Ernest R. Binger and Olive Reynolds Binger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eames.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Janet Stilwell and her husband, Richard, of Sherrills Ford, N.C.; grandchildren, Jon and Cherie Burris of Charlotte, N.C., Jeff Burris of Tryon, N.C., Roddy and Yvette Burris of Cornelius, N.C., Tommy Burris of Catawba, N.C., and Amy and Rob Heim of Mooresville, N.C.; great-grandchildren, Jackie, Joseph, Josh, and Chris Burris, Kayla Pope, Jarrett, Emilee and Jonathan Burris, and Timothy Heim.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at Abernethy Laurels’ Spirit Place in Newton with Chaplin Larry Bolick officiating.
