Chamber gives visitors a new way to tour Clear Lake
The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is giving visitors another way to enjoy Clear Lake-- by bike!
Due to popular visitor demand, the Chamber is now renting bicycles at its Visitor Center, 205 Main Ave.
“Bicycle rentals are a top request from our visitors, and we are excited to offer this amenity,” said Libbey Patton, director of Tourism.
Eight beach-cruiser style bicycles are available (two each of mens, womens, boys and girls styles). Rental cost is $20 for three-hours, or all-day for $25. The bicycles may be checked out from the Chamber during regular business hours: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 1 to 4 p.m.
Patton noted the Chamber received support from Wal-Mart to help procure the beach cruisers, Wayne’s Ski & Cycle will assist with maintenance and the Centers for Disease Control and the Cerro Gordo Department of Public Health funded helmets and a bicycle rack. River City Auto helped deliver the bikes to the Chamber and Luker’s All-American Storage is providing a storage unit for their safe keeping.
Proceeds of the bicycle rental will go toward promoting Clear Lake as a travel destination.
