Hard-fought victory for CL boys soccer team
The Clear Lake boys soccer team earned a hard-fought 3-2 victory over in a match played Monday night, April 23, in Humboldt.
The varsity teams were tied at 1-1 at the half and knotted at 2-2 in the 29th minute, but Clear Lake pulled out the win 3-2 with five-minutes remaining.
“We arrived in Humboldt ready to play both mentally and physically,” said Coach Matt Anderson.
Jack Abbas and Antonio DiMarco got the Lions on the board first with a goal in the 14th minute. Abbas made the assist to DiMarco for the score.
Clear Lake held a 1-0 lead until the 35th minute of the first half when the Humboldt forward kicked a 40 yard floater into the upper corner of the net, 1-1.
Humboldt took a 2-1 lead with a goal in the 14th minute of the second half. In the 29th minute, Humboldt scored again, tying the contest at 2-2.
