CL boys pick up triangular victory at home; fall to Clarion-Goldfield
Clarion-Goldfield Meet
The Clear Lake boys golf team had their hands full at a triangular held at Clarmond Country Club in Clarion on Tuesday, April 17. Clarion-Goldfield topped Clear Lake and Webster City in the North Central Conference showdown.
“Clarmond is a very interesting course, very small and the wind really gives the boys trouble,” said Coach Eric Perry. “We are really looking for a couple of guys to step forward and become that one consistently low score we need. It is very early in the season, so we have a lot of work to do to achieve our goals.”
Clarion-Goldfield shot a 158 to win the meet, while Clear Lake was second with 172. Webster City shot a 200.
Luke Monson led Clear Lake with a 41. Clarion-Goldfield’s Colin Odland was the meet medalist with a 37.
Rounding out Clear Lake’s team score was Tommy Schick with a 42, Jon Carew shot a 43, and Treslyn Allison finished with a 46.
“Clarion-Goldfield obviously shot very well tonight. They will be tough to beat at our conference tournament,” said Perry.
