CL girls record some good performances

Hannover Relays
    The Lions were at Algona Tuesday, April 10, to compete in the Hannover Relays.  Some good performances were recorded against a tough field of competitors.
    Clear Lake’s Distance Medley relay with Peyton Huey, Caitlin Harle, Brittany Bieber and Trudy Peterson gave the Lions a win in 4:42.66.  Peterson also earned a second

place finish in the 800 meter run in 2:40.04 and was fourth in the 1500 in 5:36.61.  Teammate Steph Faught was sixth in the 1500 in 5:50.24 and seventh in the 3000 meters in 12:22.05.  Sierra Greiman was fifth in the 3000 in 12:18.66.
    In the field events, Huey and Bieber were fifth and seventh respectively, leaping 14’ 1” and 13’ 5”.  Alissa VanHorn and Katie Hewett were seventh and eighth in the shot put with throws of 17’ 6” and 16’ 5”. Hewett was eighth in the discus with a mark of 76’ 3”. Sidney Borrill tied for seventh in the high jump, leaping 4’4”/
    The 800 Sprint Medley relay team of Huey, Bieber, Harle and Sidney Borrill was sixth in 2:09.77.  The 4x400 with Huey, Jade Ullrich, Jaci Ullrich and Bieber was sixth in 4:38.90.
    As a team, the Lions were seventh in the seven-team field with 51 points.  Algona won the team title by nearly a two to one  margin.  They tallied 198 points, compared to 100 points for Webster City, Lake Mills and Bishop Garrigan.  Humbodt and Manson NW rounded out the field with 86 and 74 points.

JV at Hannover Relays
    Clear Lake’s junior varsity made a strong showing at the Hannover Relays. The tea placed second overall in team points with 86.  Algona was- Read More Via e-Edition
