Special presentation will kick off Surf’s big week

    This year’s Winter Dance Party will kick off with the announcement that the Surf Ballroom & Museum has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

    Surf Executive Director Laurie Lietz said a special ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at the Surf Lounge in which a plaque to be placed on permanent display at the Surf will be unveiled.  Lietz declined to elaborate on details for the ceremony.  Check out next week’s Mirror-Reporter for details about the rich Surf history being celebrated next week.  A special section with complete Winter Dance Party schedule and features will also appear in next week’s edition.
