Improvements planned for CL State Park
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources Natural Resource Commission (NRC) has approved $166,128 worth of improvements for Clear Lake State Park.
The project, approved by the NRC at its Jan. 17 meeting, includes upgrading eight campsites to full hookup sites. The improvements will provide sewer, water and electricity to campsites 95-101, as well as the host site at the campgrounds.
The work also includes building two dump stations for RVs and rehabilitating the existing wastewater collection system. Currently the campground has one dump station, which causes traffic congestion and is inconvenient for campers, according to the DNR. Improvements to the wastewater systems will help prevent raw sewage from leaking into groundwater during dry weather and prevent overloading during high-water conditions.
