Ten CLHS students named to All-State choir, band

   Ten Clear Lake High School students have attained the highest individual honor available to high school musicians by being selected as members of the 2011 All-State Chorus and Band.
    Chorus members are:  Stefanie Danhour, daughter of Gary and Peg Danhour (Soprano 1); Katie Cash,

daughter of Todd and Jennifer Cash (Alto 1); Brian Demro, son of Mike and Judy Demro (Tenor 1); Cole Dickson, son of Cal and Kim Dickson (Tenor 2); Luis Dominguez, son of Zulema Mendez (Tenor 1); Austin Anderson, son of Tracy Anderson and Dawn Divis (Bass 2); Josh Pannhoff, grandson of Lloyd and Carol Drewelow (Bass 1); and Brett Thomsen, son of Tracy Thomsen and Brian Thomsen (Bass 2).  These singers are students of Paul Langholz.
    Band members are:  Aimee Medellin, grand-daughter of Russell and Mary O’Kones (flute) and Aaron Cary, son of Harold Cary (clarinet).  These instrumentalists are students of Jeff Griffin.
     The 2011 Festival will celebrate the 65th anniversary of this prestigious event.  District Auditions for the 280-piece All-State Band, 202-piece All-State Orchestra and 602-member All-State Chorus were held Saturday, Oct. 22.  Participants will rehearse in Ames on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18 and 19, and the Festival Concert will be presented to the public at 7:30 p.m. in Hilton Coliseum, Iowa State University, Ames, on Saturday evening, Nov. 19, 2011.
