Chuck Berry headlines WDP

    The Surf Ballroom & Museum has announced Rock and Roll legend Chuck Berry is among the artists who are scheduled to appear at the 2012 Winter Dance Party event, scheduled for Feb. 1-4, 2012.
    Berry, also known as “The Father of Rock & Roll”, gained success by watching the audience’s reaction and playing accordingly, putting his listeners’ amusement above all else. For this reason, tunes like “Johnny B. Goode,” “Maybellene” and “Memphis” have become anthems to an integrated American youth and pop culture.

    Berry will perform Saturday night, along with John Mueller’s Winter Dance Party, The Bobbettes, Sid King & The Five Strings.
    Advance tickets for the 2012 event go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 8 a.m. and will be sold for $110 each.  They are valid for the evenings of Thursday, Feb. 2, through Saturday, Feb. 4.  Both tickets and seating for the event will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.  Seating for the event is priced at $60 for a four-person booth, $90 for a six-person booth and $150 for a table which seats 10-people.  A minimum of four tickets is required to reserve a four-person booth, six tickets to reserve a six-person booth and eight tickets to reserve a 10-person table on the floor.  The booths and tables will be reserved for all three evenings of entertainment.  Tickets for the event are non-refundable.
     Tickets and seating reservations may be purchased online at the Surf Ballroom’s website (www.surfballroom.com) or by calling the Surf’s box office at 641-357-6151 beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
    A very limited quantity of VIP tickets will be available for $210. Each ticket includes admission to the event for the evenings of Feb. 2-4, seating in the VIP bar area, light hors de oeuvres and three complimentary drinks

Wednesday, Feb. 1
    Evening “Warm Up” Event Concert with entertainment TBA. Advance Tickets are $7.  (This is a separate ticket from the Thursday-Saturday ticket).
Thursday, Feb. 2
    Evening concert features live performances by Jason D. Williams, Danny & The Juniors, and The Flamingos starring Terry Johnson.
Friday, Feb. 3
